Fall Colours Walk at Tasca Park @ Taca Park

Take a refreshing nature walk and enjoy the fall colours! Learn about wetland plants and animals, and why these ecosystems are an important part of our neighbourhoods.

  • Hike Distance: 4 km
  • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate
  • Trail Surface Type: Crushed Limestone
  • Age Range: Family Friendly
  • Meeting Place: Parking lot at Tasca Park

This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather, including closed-toed shoes and sun/rain protection. You will be notified if the hike needs to be cancelled due to extreme weather.

Fall Colours Celebration @ Kortright Centre for Conservation

WITNESS THE BEAUTY OF KORTRIGHT IN AUTUMN!

Take a self-guided walk in our majestic mixed hardwood forests to see the fall colours at their best. Join the Kortright education team at the campfire to learn about the changes autumn brings to the natural world.

Our Fall Colours Celebration features a variety of family-friendly activities each day. Don’t forget to bring some food to roast over the campfire! (We’ll provide the grill and roasting sticks.)

Kortright’s Archetype Sustainable Houses are open for tours during the Fall Colours Celebration. Advance registration required. Call 905-832-2289 to reserve your spot.

Take a refreshing nature walk and enjoy the fall colours! Join us on this guided walk through the Oak Ridges Corridor Conservation Reserve (ORCCR).

  • Hike Distance: 4 km
  • Difficulty: Easy to Moderate (short steep section)
  • Trail Surface Type: Crushed lime stone
  • Age Range: Family Friendly. Leashed dogs welcome.

This event will take place rain or shine. Please dress for the weather, including long pants and closed-toe shoes. You will be notified if the hike needs to be cancelled due to extreme weather. Parking is limited and washrooms are not available at this site.

Tommy Thompson Park is an amazing spot for bird watching: 326 species of birds have been recorded here, including more than 55 breeding species.

The park is an important stopover during migration for many bird species that need to rest and refuel to continue their journey. In addition to many species of songbirds, the park also plays host to migrating raptors, waterfowl and shorebirds.
